Hello everyone! I’m excited to share the plan for our upcoming neighborhood clean‑up day. On Saturday, we’ll meet at the community centre at 9 a.m. and then head to the park, the riverbank, and the old playground. The goal is simple: pick up litter, sort recyclables, and plant a few trees. We’ve already collected reusable bags, gloves, and a set of small shovels from a local hardware store. Volunteers will be divided into teams: the first team will focus on the park, the second on the riverbank, and the third on the playground. Each team will have a leader who will keep track of the items collected and the amount of trash. We’ll also bring a portable trash bag for each group so that nothing is left behind. After the clean‑up, we’ll have a short picnic with sandwiches, fruit, and water. It’s a great chance to meet neighbours, learn about recycling, and enjoy the outdoors. We’ll need a few extra helpers to set up the picnic area and to help with the planting. If you’re interested, please sign up on the community board or email us. We’ll send a reminder a week before the event. Thank you for your support, and I hope to see many of you on Saturday! The event will last about three hours, and we’ll finish by 12 p.m. We’ll also have a small station where people can learn how to separate plastic, glass, and paper. Volunteers will wear bright vests so they’re easy to spot. We’ll provide water bottles and hand sanitizer. After the picnic, we’ll clean up the picnic area and then celebrate with a short ceremony where we’ll plant a tree together. The tree will be a native species that attracts birds and bees. This will help the local wildlife and make the park more beautiful. We’re also planning to keep the clean‑up day every month for the next six months, so the park stays tidy. If you have any questions, feel free to call the community office. We’re looking forward to a fun and productive day.
