I’m Nina, and this week I used a parcel locker for the first time. I ordered a pair of running shoes online, but I knew I would be at work when the driver arrived. I chose a locker next to my local supermarket instead of home delivery.
On Tuesday afternoon, I received a text message. It said my parcel was ready and gave me a six-number code. The message also said I had three days to collect it. After work, I walked to the supermarket and found a row of blue lockers near the entrance.
First, I touched the screen and chose “Collect”. Then I typed the code from my phone. A small door opened by itself. My box was inside. I closed the door and the screen showed “Thank you”. The whole process took less than a minute.
The locker was useful because I did not need to wait at home. However, the box was quite large, and carrying it on the bus was difficult. Next time, I will check the parcel size before I choose a locker.
